Where to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in San Diego

Cinco de Mayo is right around in corner, and San Diego restaurants and breweries are ready to commemorate the special occasion with deals sure to make for a triumphant celebration!

For Cinco de May this year, barleymash is partnering with Espolón Tequila to feature some delicious margaritas, only available on May 5th! Stop in to try the refreshing Watermelon Margarita, made with Espolón Blanco, fresh watermelon, lime, and a Tajin Rim. You can also enjoy their Strawberry Margarita, comprised of Espolón Reposado, strawberry, and lime, or the Millionaire Margarita, made with a combination of Espolón Anejo, lime, agave, and Grand Marnier.

The Smoking Gun will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo on May 5th, as well as the following weekend on May 7th and 8th, with tasty food and drink specials available throughout the day. Guests can look forward to $5 Modelo and Pacifico drafts, $7 margaritas and Patron Palomas, $7 A Salt With A Deadly Weapon, a signature cocktail made with Espolón Tequila, ancho verde, lime, grapefruit, peychaud’s, and Himalayan pink salt. The Smoking Gun will also offer $10 award-winning Smoking Micheladas and Wagyu tacos!

Head to PB’s Mavericks Beach Club for Cinco de Mayo beer specials and refreshing margaritas, as well as to check out new items added to their Baja-fresh menu. Try the Citrus Shrimp Bowl, with cilantro lime rice, 5 spice glazed shrimp, mango salad, cabbage, jalapeno, and avocado, with the Spicy Margarita. You’ll want to celebrate all day long while enjoying the blend of Olmeca Altos Plata, sliced jalapeno, agave, and fresh lime juice, with a Tajin rim.

Casa Guadalajara, Old Town (San Diego) – May 1 & 2, May 5

Casa Guadalajara will be celebrating all weekend long in Old Town, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The festivities will include live entertainment such as mariachis, Ballet Folklorico, Tinku Latin Duo, food and drink specials, giveaways, street vendors and more. They will be having the same live entertainment and specials on Cinco de Mayo, starting at 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Casa de Pico, Grossmont Center (La Mesa) – May 5

“Cheers” all day long with the festive “Cincorita” margarita – strawberry, Midori (melon flavored liqueur) and lime in layers of green, white and red, paying homage to the Mexican flag. Diners will munch on the cheesy Enchiladas Banderas – a savory sampling of chicken, cheese and beef enchiladas served with three different sauces – verde, blanca and rojas (green, white and red). Live entertainment mariachi band will begin at 12 p.m. till closing.

It’s time to celebrate and if your go-to liquor is tequila, you’re in luck. Casa de Bandini will be having drink specials by the hour. Starting at 2-4p.m. with $12.95 Don Julio Cadillac margaritas; 4-6 p.m. with a $10.95 Casamigos Cadillac Margarita; 6-8 p.m. with $2 off Sauza Hornitos Reposado shots.
