OB Warehouse has served the vibrant beachfront community of Ocean Beach since August of 2014. Now, on February 14th, this Cohn Restaurant Group-owned business bids “farewell” as it closes its doors for good. Moving into the space is Rise & Shine Restaurant Group’s morning sensation; Breakfast Republic.
Johan Engman, founder and owner of Rise & Shine (which also owns and operates three Fig Tree Cafés and other new concepts launching in 2017) has partnered with David Cohn for this new Breakfast Republic location. “It gives me great pleasure to do business with David, says Johan. He is more than a restauranteur; he is a true San Diego icon.” Although this is their first, and only joint venture (and the new Breakfast Republic remains a holding of Rise & Shine), Johan looks forward to working with David as a mentor and friend.
Known for their innovative breakfast menu, bright & colorful décor, and humor-cracking signage, Breakfast Republic has hatched another location in Encinitas. The Encinitas location is the first North County location for the brand, and is also the largest at 3,500 square feet plus an additional 700 square foot patio space. New décor/design pieces for this location include an ‘egg-cellent’ lounge area with egg chairs and tables, and cheeky sayings written across booth tables, such as “Brunch: The socially acceptable excuse for day drinking.”
Caffeine-lovers rejoice! There is nothing like rolling out of bed to a fresh, hot cup of joe. Thankfully for us, San Diego restaurants are selling their own special blends of grinds so you can grab a bag from some of your favorite breakfast places and brew at home!
Since its inception in 2008, Fig Tree Café has been home to some of San Diego’s best breakfast. Their 100% organic and fair-trade blend of Fig Tree coffee is no exception. The best part? The beans are packed in a 1lb. bag, so you can bring that caffeine fix you crave, home with you.
