National American Beer Day is Thursday, October 27th which means it’s time to celebrate the best drink on Earth! Get the weekend started a little early and head to any of these bars to raise your glass to good ole’ American beer.

Celebrating in North Park? Make your toasts at Encontro. The beer list boasts over 20 rotating taps of local and national suds. Stop by for happy hour Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to save $2 off any bottles and drafts.

Just down the street, there are 30 taps waiting for you at True North Tavern. Ballast Point, Green Flash, Karl Strauss, Stone and Rough Draft are just a few of TNT’s pours. Complete with pool tables and 25 HDTV’s, beer drinkers can kick back at this chill neighborhood bar. On Thursday, March 10th, you and your canine companions can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day festivities together while enjoying the company of friends and fellow dog lovers! Save some green during the holiday of green with drink specials like Titos cocktails and wine for only $5. Not to mention, Backyard’s house-made dog treats are sure to have your pooch’s tail wagging. This Pacific Beach puppy party is from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., so be sure to stop by with your furry best friend and an appetite to fit in the fun. Don’t forget to dress up the fur-ball in their Patty’s Day best to compete for some paw-some prizes!

Coastal-cool vibes come to mind when you step into Tavern. Located just a few blocks from the sandy shore, the eatery offers an extensive menu for both food and booze. They refer to their happy hour as the “Best at the Beach,” and after checking out their specials, the claim to fame really is true. From 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday, ALL of their drinks are half off. Yep, you heard right! Their Mixed Ideologies menu features a comprehensive selection of craft cocktails, wine and champagne. Tavern’s recommended drinks are accompanied by a black pig logo next to their description, so be sure to give the select few a try. One of the popular beverages they suggest is the American Mule, prepared with American Harvest Organic Vodka, fresh lime, small batch ginger beer and angostura bitters. You can have it served old school-style or frozen for an extra twist.

Backyard Kitchen and Tap is taking over the space previously occupied by Moondoggies, renovating it into a modernly rustic grub-and-brew hotspot. Garage doors that open to the street invite all to enjoy interior spaces that are flanked with artfully crafted reclaimed wood interiors. Outdoor areas will be celebrated with three cabanas, live walls, fire pits and an indoor/outdoor bar; setting the stage for memorable nights on the patio with late night DJ’s and live music.
