Modern eatery Carve in Serra Mesa will celebrate its first year in business with an over-the-top Pastrami Party featuring a limited edition sandwich, specially priced menu favorites, free house sodas and giveaways of more than $100 in Carve gift cards and gear. Taking place Wednesday, April 4 through Friday, April 6, Carve welcomes all ages to drop in and enjoy one of the neighborhood’s newest, freshest eateries while celebrating the success of its first year.

To kick off its one-year mark, Carve will debut a limited edition ‘Strami on Rye sandwich piled with Carve’s house smoked pastrami, sauerkraut, Dijon mustard and pickles on grilled New York Rye. This over-the-top item will be available throughout Carve’s anniversary week and may be paired with any craft beer for an additional five dollars between April 4 and 6. During this time Carve will also offer its signature ‘Strami Tacos at $2.50 each. House favorites, which include Carve ‘Strami Fries and two additional hickory smoked beef brisket pastrami sandwiches–the Smokin’ ‘Strami and Carve ‘Strami–will also be available to enjoy.

Carve will also offer complimentary house sodas April 4 through April 6 between noon and 1 p.m. with any meal purchase. Guests can discover novel flavors like Hibiscus Sparkling Soda, Sparkling Mango Lemonade or Chai Tea Fizz, a carbonated version of a chai latte, as well as house made root beer, cream soda and cherry soda while supplies last.

“Carve was born from my interest in bringing a unique, fine casual restaurant to the Serra Mesa neighborhood, and we’ve all enjoyed getting to know the community this past year. We look forward to celebrating the restaurant’s one year anniversary with neighbors and new faces this April,” said Chris Karetas, founder of Carve.

Opened in Spring 2017, Carve boasts a modern design featuring ample natural lighting, communal tables and an outdoor patio where neighbors gather to enjoy breakfast and lunch served in fine-casual style. On weekdays, Carve opens at 8 a.m. to offer breakfast sandwiches on fresh ciabatta; maple glazed bacon; avocado toast; pastrami scrambles and Café Moto coffees. Carve’s lunch menu focuses on quality meats and fresh fare via indulgent sandwiches, Carve ‘Strami Fries, seasonal salads, grilled steak and catch-of-the-day plates and more.

Walk-ins are welcome. Carve’s regular breakfast and lunch menus will be available for order throughout its one-year anniversary celebrations. Carve is open daily at 8583 Aero Drive and can be contacted via phone at (858) 634- 2384. Visit and socialize on Facebook and Instagram using @carve_sd.
