June 15th is National Lobster Day and if you consider yourself even a bit of a seafood aficionado, then this is one day you’ll want to be sure to celebrate! Lobster is, by far, one of the most decadent and delicious seafood items, and we’ve compiled some of the best places in San Diego to indulge this Saturday.

Stop into East Village’s WhipHand, an American brasserie and beer bank serving sharable plates and one-of-a-kind cocktail creations. For National Lobster Day, opt to order Chef Q’s Lobster Roll, which comes with jalapeño slaw and crystal aioli. The flavorful combo of lobster sautéed in garlic butter is perfect with the spice from the jalapeño and aioli sauce!

Point Loma Fish Shop, on the corner of Rosecrans and Cañon Street, takes pride offering locals and visitors the freshest fish dishes in the area. It’s easy to see why diners have gotten hooked on Fish Shop, which also has locations in Pacific Beach, Encinitas, and Hermosa Beach, with their build-your-own meal concept. On Saturday, grab a spot on the patio and order the Slipper Lobster Tacos, served on your choice of flour or corn tortillas and topped with shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, mixed cheeses and house cilantro white sauce.

With locations in La Mesa, Little Italy and Bay Park, Farmer’s Table is serving locals and visitors fresh dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Gather your closest friends for dinner on National Lobster Day, and try the Spiny Lobster Raviolientrée, served with broccoli and saffron light cream sauce. Pair with a glass of Flat Rock Cellars Mile BenchChardonnay, as the full bodies flavor compliments the decadence of the ravioli.

Saturdays in San Diego are best spent at the beach and after a day of surfing or soaking up the sun, you’ll surely need to refuel. Head to The Duck Dive, PB’s premier neighborhood lounge and eatery for classic takes on American dishes, as well as coastal favorites. Treat yourself to the Surf ‘N’ Turf, a plate of grilled filet mignon, broiled lobster tail, roasted poblano and cilantro rice, drizzled with a house-made mole sauce – yum!

City Tacos has turned up the heat on innovative, delicious and unique bites, such as with their Surf & Turf house favorite taco. Grilled rib eye steak and garlic sautéed shrimp are served over melted Oaxaca cheese and topped with cabbage, tomato and avocado for a truly scrumptious taco! City Tacos has locations in North Park, La Mesa, Imperial Beach, Encinitas and soon-to-open Pacific Beach, so what’re you waiting for – go celebrate National Lobster Day with San Diego’s favorite taqueria.

Though known for their one-of-a-kind woodfired and artisan thin crust pizzas, Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza & Grill also offers a variety of other tasty menu items. From sharables and salads, to specialty dishes and mini burgers, Sammy’s truly has it all. The family dining spot even offers a warm bowl of Lobster Bisque, prepared with fresh herbs, cream and sherry in a rich stock.

Pacific Beach Shore Club, just steps from the sand in PB, is a classic beach bar offering cold drinks, delicious eats and ocean-front views from anywhere you sit or stand. Snag a spot on the patio and soak up the sun, while enjoying a light lunch or dinner. On National Lobster Day, Shore Club will be featuring specialty Rolled Lobster Taquitos with a southwest coleslaw! You’ll love the flavor of Lobster, mixed cheese, cream cheese, poblano pepper and onions rolled in a flour tortilla, then deep fried and served with a southwest coleslaw, sour cream and avocado lime sauce.
