The San Diego Mycological Society presents it’s 21st Annual Fungus Fair on Sunday, February 17th, 2019 from 10:30am – 3:30pm in Balboa Park, Casa Del Prado, Room 101.
The event will showcase the most beautiful, the most dreadful and the most edible mushrooms that San Diego County has to offer. Join mushroom experts and enthusiasts for a day of mushroom identification, cooking demonstrations, lectures and vendors. This is a family friendly event that will include a children’s corner to encourage your little ones to get curious too!

The speaker and demonstration series will include many speakers and topics including a conversation with the renowned Alan Rockerfeller whose dedication to and enthusiasm for mycology is opening up the science and wonder of mushrooms to whole new audiences.
A variety of vendors will be showcasing the beauty, variety of and uses of mushrooms. Edible mushroom delicacies will be provided for purchase by Girard Gourmet. Mushroom themed vendors will include gourmet edibles, mushroom growing kits, mushroom supplements, jewelry and crafts, artistic prints, postcards and more.
The San Diego Mycological Society was established in 1997. Their members include amateurs, enthusiasts and mycological professionals whose interests in mushrooms include culinary, cultivation, identification, photography, ecology, and more. They share their interests through monthly meetings, topic-specific classes, mushroom forays (collecting), and identification in order to demystify mushrooms and share their knowledge with the public.
