GBOD Hospitality will host its first fundraising event benefiting the Rady Children’s Hospital and the Our Music For You Foundation on Thursday, Nov. 30 at Mezé Greek Fusion, located at 345 Sixth Ave. in the Gaslamp Quarter. The event, a four-course dinner accompanied by a live rumba-flamenco show and special guest, Joef of The Gipsy Kings family, will be held from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.
The fundraiser celebrates three-year-old Johann Santos, the son of GBOD partner, Joe Santos, who is now thriving after spending the first three months of his life at both Rady Children’s Hospital and Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns following his premature birth at just 27 weeks.
The four-course dinner will begin with tzatziki and cilantro jalapeño hummus with pita, served family style; followed by saganaki, pan-seared kasseri cheese flambéd tableside in brandy; a main course, a choice between chicken souvlaki, pasta lahana, Mezé kabob or grilled salmon, each served with accompaniments; and for dessert, loukoumades with Greek yogurt. The dinner will be priced at $40 per person.
There will also be a silent auction of two autographed guitars, generously donated by The Gipsy Kings. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Rady Children’s Hospital and the Our Music For You Foundation.
