Located in the historic enclave of Mission Hills, Fort Oak draws inspiration from nearby Presidio Park, known for its majestic oak trees, and its location on Fort Stockton Drive.
The restaurant is the third in the acclaimed Trust Restaurant Group collection established by Co-Owner/Executive Chef Brad Wise and Co-Owner/General Manager Steve Schwob joins Trust Restaurant in Hillcrest and Hundred Proof in University Heights. In keeping with Executive Chef Brad Wise’s affinity for rustic urban, wood-fired cooking, guests can choose from a seasonal selection of small plates and composed dishes cooked over an open flame, as well as a raw bar, oyster bar and family-style tasting experiences.
The layout of Fort Oak’s four distinct dining spaces represents a seamless cohesion between the old and the new. Celebrating San Diego’s rich history, unique design materials include an expansive black oak communal table and a floating oak branch ceiling fixture that were custom crafted for the restaurant. The showpiece stand-alone main bar is housed in the historic structure and showcases a selection of refreshing and well-balanced cocktails paired with an elevated bar menu. The contemporary main dining room transitions into a sleek and clean-lined exhibition kitchen, anchored by a custom-configured range, where guests can revel in a front row seat to the culinary action. Dining al fresco is encouraged on two patio areas.
