A small European restaurant in downtown San Diego, the locals have made Dobson’s Bar & Restaurant their regular dining destination for the last 30 years. “The ambiance is very cozy and casual,” says executive chef Martin San Ramon. “We like to get to know our customers by name.”

Born in Mexico City, San Roman offers a classic cuisine with modern presentations. A graduate from L’Ecole Lenôtre in Paris, he brings a vast array of international culinary experience and creativity to the kitchen from his time working in hotels and restaurants in Europe. His cooking show with the Televisa Network ran for eight years with a strong following on both sides of the U.S. – Mexico border. He’s one of the few chefs worldwide to belong to the prestige Academie Culinaire de France and also to the Société des cuisiniers de Paris.

When he’s not in his restaurant kitchen, San Ramon enjoys collecting miniature red Ferrari’s as well as spending time outdoors and with his family. His favorite pass time is barbecuing at home, where he says his wife is also an excellent cook.
