Located in the heart of downtown’s Gaslamp District, Queensborough is a swanky 1920s New York City-inspired cocktail bar, eatery and lounge.
Experience Queensborough’s 6,000 square-foot subterranean lounge or the 1,800 square-foot street-level cocktail bar and dining area. Bluemotif Architecture has fashioned various elements to include diamond-tufted leather booths, cantilevered marble tabletops, antique brass light fixtures, wrought iron railings, exposed brick walls, a vintage phone booth, authentic subway turnstile, as well as original New York subway tokens inlaid in the intricate mosaic bar floor. The cocktail bar’s jaw-dropping centerpiece features a 22-foot-long marble bar top and floor-to-ceiling custom-fabricated back bar, which houses more than 300 bottles.
Queensborough’s spirits program pays tribute to the great cocktail institutions of NYC and the enduring classics made famous by the city’s legendary barkeeps. Menus vary between the two spaces—more shaken and refreshing options upstairs complemented by a selection of stirred and direct cocktails in the lounge below.
Queensborough’s spirits program places heavy emphasis on rare and obscure bourbons and ryes, Scotch, Irish and Japanese whiskeys, in addition to a selection of handcrafted gins. The menu also showcases many of San Diego’s amazing, local micro distilleries including Old Harbor, Malahat Spirits, Cutwater Spirits, Henebery and St. George Spirits out of San Francisco. With 18 beers on draught, Queensborugh’s local brewery pride shines through with a menu exclusively consisting of San Diego-based brews, alongside more than a dozen wines from California and Baja.
A small menu of appetizers includes Queensborough popcorn, pretzels, and surf and turf sliders. Don’t miss the Queensborough burger or the beignets for dessert.
