The Corner Drafthouse is Bankers Hill’s newest go-to destination for foodies, craft beer- and cocktail enthusiasts. Order from their wide selection of scratch-made favorites such as Fresh Ahi Poke, Buffalo Chicken Lollipops, Short Rib Grinder Sandwich, Jumbo Crab BLT and their signature Fish ‘N Chips. Not to mention, you’ll want to pair your meal with one of their 70 local taps that showcase some of Southern California’s best brews. Craft cocktail enthusiastic? Their drink menu focused on seasonal ingredients is just as impressive.
Running the show are managing partners Executive Chef Dan Sobek and David Creviston, who along with former La Valencia Chef De Cuisine, Mark Pultz, are already “wowing” the neighborhood with elevated comfort-food-favorites and shareable plates. Chef Sobek has spent most of his career at ultra-luxury hotels, including the Dorchester Hotel in London and The Waldorf Astoria in New York City. He served as Sous Chef for Top Chef Finalist Kenny Gilbert at the Capella Hotel in Telluride, Colorado and also managed the kitchens during the opening of New York City’s Five-Diamond, Five-Star Setai Fifth Avenue. Creviston is also a managing partner of The Bier Garden of Encinitas, which has received multiple awards, including “Best North County Restaurant/Bar 2014.”
Indoor/outdoor spaces incorporate large, operable windows, along with three patios for al fresco dining to take advantage of San Diego’s summer sun. They’ve also incorporated plenty of creative spaces, bringing upcycled design materials to the table, and the natural textures throughout make any guest feel right at home.
