The Little Italy Food Hall is pleased to announce the addition of Bobboi Natural Gelato, which will begin serving guests in March, to its selection of locally-driven food stations. The gelateria replaces Single Fin Kitchen and will provide Little Italy Food Hall visitors with a much-needed dessert option of gourmet, seasonal gelato and sorbets made from scratch daily with locally sourced, organic ingredients.
“We thank Single Fin Kitchen for all they contributed to the Food Hall and we are extremely excited to welcome Bobboi to our Food Hall family. We’ve had a lot of demand from guests for dessert and believe Bobboi Gelato fills a void and is absolutely world class!” Mike DiNorscia, CEO of Grain & Grit Collective.
Since opening its La Jolla location in 2014, Bobboi Natural Gelato has consistently ranked among SanDiego’s top gelaterias and ice cream shops in national polls and has become a must-visit destination in La Jolla village. By combining timeless Italian technique with the freshest Southern California ingredients sourced from local farms and markets, Bobboi creates both traditional and untraditional flavors that range from artisanal versions of classics like pistachio, stracciatella and dark chocolate sorbet to signature flavors like Matchatella (matcha tea and chocolate chips) and Rosehoney (organic honey and Lebanese rosewater). Its pure flavors concentrate on a single ingredient, like coconut or pistachio, creating a highly flavorful experience. The flavor lineup is constantly changing based on the season and availability of ingredients, and there are usually over 15 offerings to choose from.
“We are delighted to join the Piazza della Famiglia community and be a part of the food hall movement here in San Diego, as well as offer our gelato in north Little Italy to a whole new audience,” says Andrea Racca, co-owner of Bobboi Gelato.
As of March, the Little Italy Food Hall’s lineup of local food vendors will include Ambrogio15, serving gourmet Milan-style pizzas made popular by its flagship location in Pacific Beach; Bobboi Gelato; Mein St. Asian Kitchen, specializing in Asian comfort foods such as wings and boba teas; Not Not Tacos by Sam the Cooking Guy offering eclectic tacos filled with unexpected ingredients; Roast Meat & Sandwich Shop, featuring build-your-own superfood salads, artisanal sandwiches, whole roast chickens and meatballs; and Wicked Maine Lobster which conveys its New England heritage through Maine lobster rolls, clam bake and shrimp baskets, chowder and more. At its center, The Little Italy Food Hall Barserves local craft beers, wines and craft cocktails made using local spirits. As of December, all drinks can now be enjoyed throughout the outdoor Piazza della Famiglia.
