7 Mile Kitchen, located in the lively coastal community of Carlsbad, California, at the recently reimagined Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa, is pleased to announce the addition of Walter Bunn as the new Chef de Cuisine. Chef Walter brings 24 years of culinary expertise and a focus in farm-to-table Southern cuisine to the recently opened establishment.

An East Coast native, Chef Walter’s inspiration for new dishes comes from the highest-quality, yet sustainable, ingredients themselves. Constantly looking to innovate and push the edge, Chef Walter always keeps in mind the local community and their needs. His cuisine reflects a seasonal, fresh, and earth-responsible approach.

Chef Walter brings remarkable culinary leadership and skills to the hotel’s on-site dining space where he operates under the direction of Executive Chef Julian Quiñones. He grew up in the Southeast, where he hunted, fished, and farmed as a child to help provide for his family, making his farm-to-table approach familiar and highly-skilled. Influenced by the culinary scene in Charleston, South Carolina, Chef Walter has taken his work across the country; most recently with Azul Hospitality opening the Moxy in the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter.
