Little Italy Hosts Ferragosto

Little Italy’s biggest party, Ferragosto, returns for its next big bash, “Wild Western: Little Italy’s Biggest Party Goes Denim and Diamonds,” on Saturday, August 19 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight with a VIP reception starting at 5:00 p.m. Guests are invited to Little Italy’s Amici Park for an evening that calls for attendees to dress-up in their best western gear and enjoy an interactive experience with wild western themed entertainment, a Western style BBQ, casino games, a rodeo, live music and more.

Nomad Donuts To Open Second Location


Nomad Donuts will open its second location on University & Illinois in the heart of North Park during mid-to-late August. The 3,200 square foot space will be an expanded and evolved version of Nomad Donuts’ original shop in Normal Heights, and fans will be able to enjoy Nomad’s eclectic donuts alongside new additions like Canadian-style bagels, breakfast sandwiches, an expanded coffee program and a savory and sweet “chef’s counter” by Executive Chef Kristianna Zabala. Expect an interior inspired by Cuban architecture and writer Ernest Hemingway’s home on the island. Nomad Donuts’ second location will stay open all day.

BLVD Asian Kitchen Adds New Summer Menu

Situated in the middle of La Mesa Blvd., BLVD Asian Kitchen is one of La Mesa’s newest casual eateries. The vibrant and welcoming eatery has already made its mark with its popular bao bun tacos and hearty bowls of ramen, but a new menu is giving locals more reasons to return. Available now are a selection of fresh starters to share, like their Vegetarian Eggrolls in a crispy wonton wrapper with sweet chili dipping sauce, and Chicken Katsu with panko-fried chicken breast served sliced with katsu sauce.
