Craft Beer Week

Craft Beer Week True North TavernIt’s hard to argue that the best way to celebrate American Craft Beer Week is by visiting San Diego’s bars with a plethora of local craft brews for you to choose from. There’s something about the sun and the city’s laid-back atmosphere that enhance the enjoyment of a cold craft brew. It might be the freshness of local kegs being tapped shortly after shipping out. It could be San Diego’s establishments’ eagerness to show off those local creations that are winning awards across the country and the world.  Whatever it is – join your west coast beer neighbors to celebrate the lagers, ambers, IPAs and more that American brew masters are producing and perfecting. Kick off the drinking on May 16th; order a pint, a mug or a bottle and join in on the American Craft Brew festivities at any of these San Diego bars.

Ginger’s is Gaslamp’s Buried Treasure

Ginger’s Martini Lounge Located Downstairs at Barleymash (Photo by Maria Desiderata Montana)

Ginger’s is Gaslamp’s Buried Treasure

Not known by all, there is buried treasure in the Gaslamp’s nightlife. Underneath the corner of Fifth and Market, below the Barleymash restaurant and bar, is a hidden gem called Ginger’s. This surreptitious martini lounge provides the perfect balance between relaxed and dynamic with the alluring combination of creatively crafted cocktails, social lounge, temping music, and an inviting dance floor.

Nighttime revelers can seek refuge below street level and soak up the intimate setting with one of ginger’s signature cocktails while chatting with friends amongst the comforts of leather clad couches and dim accent lighting. As the various vodka and gin concoctions help whisk away the woes of the work week, the rhythmic beats emanating from the DJ’s turntables assist in shifting the evening to the next gear.

With the revelation of this clandestine club sure to get around, there will be plenty of “those in the know” to share in the experience. Sometimes one has to head below ground to see what’s up.
