Located at the entrance to San Diego’s Historic Gaslamp Quarter, within direct proximity to the San Diego Convention Center and Petco Park, Lou and Mickey’s serves memorable classic American cuisine with plenty of mid-western hospitality that is warm and welcoming for anyone – whether in a three-piece suit on a business lunch or in shorts and a tee en route to the Padres game, “mid-western” hospitality is diplomatic.
Cousins Jeff and Sam King opened Lou & Mickey’s to honor their fathers with a restaurant that showcases their roots by serving choice seafood and prime steaks in a relaxed, inviting environment reminiscent of a classic steakhouse. Prime beef is seared in a 1600-degree oven and brushed with duck fat for added flavor.
The restaurant feels like a post-WW II supper club, with a jazzy/40s-inspired playlist. Dark wood lends to the warm atmosphere, complemented by the raw bar and extensive red wine-heavy list. For a livelier vibe, guests may enjoy fun cocktails in the lounge. Lou & Mickey’s also features one of the best patios in the Gaslamp, where guests can hear the roar of Petco Park 2 blocks away. Enjoy happy hour specials Monday-Friday 4-6pm, and a menu of American classics.
Lou & Mickey’s is available for private events and is located at 224 Fifth Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101. For more information and reservations, please call (619) 237-4900 or visit www.louandmickeys.com.
