Kickin’ Mule Cocktail Menu

wct_muleDespite its recent popularity, the mule cocktail has been around for over 70 years. Its origins go back to 1941 where legend has it that an excess supply of Smirnoff Vodka and ginger beer led to the birth of the copper mug concoction. With October 26th being National Mule Day, you’ll want to visit North Park’s West Coast Tavern and test their entire corral of ginger-beer-based creations. West Coast’s kickin’ cocktail menu features nine variations of the classic mule drink that combine unusual ingredients with lovable names.

Mule lovers can take a seat on West Coast’s patio that overlooks University Ave and take a sip of their Unicorn with fruit-infused Smirnoff Vodka. Connoisseur of gin? Their Narwhal mule is made with Tanqueray and cucumber bitters and definitely packs a punch. Or those looking for something on the sweeter side can have a taste of their The Dude mule carefully crafted with Ketel One, Kahlua and cream. Each variation of the cocktail includes ginger beer, fresh lime juice and bitters.

The best part? Their HUGE mule pitchers are only $20 during Happy Hour, seven days a week from 4-6 p.m., so you can share in all the deliciousness. Head to North Park and check out West Coast’s mule menu in honor of National Mule Day!
