Finding Ceviche

June 28th is National Ceviche Day, and we’ve rounded up some of the best San Diego spots to snack on the South American-inspired seafood dish.

Check out any of Fish Shop’s three San Diego locations – in Pacific Beach, Encinitas or Point Loma – and start things off with their Shrimp Ceviche. The whole gang can enjoy raw shrimp, cured in lemon juice, and served with a side of warm chips. All Fish Shop locations have plenty of outdoor patio space, ideal for relaxing, sipping a beer and soaking up the California sun!

Nothing says summer quite like a day spent at The Duck Dive, a PB neighborhood beach bar and eatery. Located less than a block to the sand, this laidback spot is perfect for fueling up after a gnarly surf session or hanging out with friends at the beach. While deciding what to order from the creative cocktail menu, order the Shrimp Ceviche to snack on. Diced poached white shrimp, jicama, cucumber, mango, cocktail sauce and avocado, dusted with tajin and served with a side of tortilla chips will hit the spot.

barleymash, found on the corner of Fifth and Market, is a high-energy restaurant and bar that serves appetizing and progressive bar fare. And if you have yet to try Chef Kevin Templeton’s Citrus Vodka Shrimp Ceviche, you’re in for a real treat. You’ll love the combination of charred sweet corn, cucumber, salsa fresca, spicy guacamole, taro chips and barley crackers.

For unbeatable oceanfront views, look no further than Waterbar! Located along the vibrant boardwalk in Pacific Beach, Waterbar features delightful cocktails and a social seafood menu, inspired by East coast, West coast and Baja cuisines. Just one bite of their Catarina Scallop Ceviche, prepared with lime and serrano juice, tomato, onion, cilantro, house chili powder and tortilla chips, and you’re sure to be hooked.
